Volunteers are an important part of Charity life. As a volunteer, you will help to raise awareness of Sheffield Children’s within the community and is a great way to become actively involved with the Charity and funding projects over and above the NHS provision.
Volunteers help us achieve so much together. Volunteering is a two-way street: we hope you can benefit and get something out of helping a cause we all care passionately about. Dedicating your time as a volunteer helps us raise much needed funds, spread the word about the charity and it could also help you make new friends, expand your network, and boost your social life!

Our volunteer roles
Our volunteer roles are diverse and exciting, often involving participation in fundraising events such as golf days, marathons, football collections, and charity stalls at various community gatherings. Here are some of the activities you might enjoy:
- Manning a charity stall, selling TCHC merchandise and promoting our events
- Staffing registration desks
- Collecting donations
- Serving as a route marshal
- Selling raffle tickets
- Dressing up as our cheerful charity mascot, Theo

Volunteering at Sheffield Children’s Hospital
We often receive enquiries about volunteering within Sheffield Children’s Hospital itself. If you’re interested in ward-based volunteering or supporting the hospital directly, this is managed separately by the hospital’s volunteer team. You can find more details and apply via their website.
