It’s so inspiring to work as part of the enthusiastic, dedicated and lovely Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity team who work tirelessly to make a difference to the lives of patients and their families. Sheffield Children’s is known around the world for being at the forefront of young people’s healthcare, and it’s exciting to be a part of its story.

Although I was attracted to the charity because of the worthy cause they support, this amazing charity team is now the foremost reason I love working here. Nothing is more rewarding than doing what you enjoy doing in support of a worthy cause with the absolute finest human beings.

Rachel Cooper

Grants Assistant

I’ve always had a passion for the charity having had experience of Sheffield Children’s Hospital with my sons and witnessed the amazing work they do and care they provide. It was time for a career change and in my new role it’s brilliant being able to support research, innovation, improve services and the hospital experience for patients and their families. Working for Team Theo in a role that’s interesting, fulfilling and worthwhile is very rewarding.

Amelia Mather-Peck

Art+ Programmer

As one of the Art+ Programmers at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity, I love bringing creativity and joyful experiences into the hospital through lots of different art forms. I love art and truly believe in its power to uplift, distract, and create memorable moments. I joined Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity as I wanted to help bring children opportunities to express themselves, feel joy, and connect through art – even during tough times. Every child deserves that kind of magic.

Emma Chambers

Corporate Partnerships Administration Assistant

I work for Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity because I want to be part of something that can changes and improves the lives of children in Sheffield and beyond. In my role as an Administration Assistant, I know that the tasks I undertake such as managing records to supporting events and keeping things organised can help make a real difference. My job supports the charity, so the teams’ raising funds and supporting families can focus on what matters most. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the work I do contributes to providing world-class care and research, funding cutting-edge equipment, and improving the hospital experience for children and their families.

Angela Dunn

Grants and Projects Senior Officer

Seeing the incredible work that is carried out at Sheffield Children’s Hospital is so inspiring. It is great to be able to support their innovative ideas and improve the services they provide with funding from the charity, to ensure the hospital leads the way in child healthcare for future generations.

Suzanne Dinwoodie

Philanthropy Officer

As a mum of 3 kids who have all been in Sheffield Children’s Hospital at some point, some times more serious than others, I have always felt the need to give back to Sheffield Children’s, so when the opportunity came to work at the charity I jumped at it and haven’t looked back since! Whilst I get to work some incredible events, one of my favourite parts of the job is when I go in the hospital to do tours etc with our supporters – it really makes me feel proud to see the impact the charity and our supporter’s donations have on the Hospital and it reminds me why we work so hard doing what we do to make a difference to patients and families at the hospital.

Charlotte Wilson

Community Fundraising Manager

I am so proud to be part of Team Theo! I’m inspired every day by the dedication and creativity of our incredible supporters. It’s such a privilege to work together to improve the lives of children and young people and I love seeing the impact of donations in such important and groundbreaking work at the hospital.

Harriet Clark

Corporate Fundraising Manager

I spent the first 20 years of my working life teaching in a number of secondary schools in and around Sheffield.  I loved it. However, having taken a 3 years sabbatical to look after my son after he was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia, when his treatment came to an end it felt like it was time to do something different.  Throughout his time at Sheffield Children’s Hospital we saw first-hand the amazing care offered by the wonderful professionals who work there and gained a small understanding of how the charity can make a difference to patients and their families so when the opportunity came to work for the charity, I grabbed it!  I feel very privileged to work with so many fantastic supporters who all have their reasons for wanting to make a difference and with a brilliant team to support all the amazing things that Sheffield Children’s are committed to delivering!

Holly Newton-Steele

Corporate Partnerships Officer

I feel so lucky to work for such an amazing charity! I am a Solicitor by trade, however having the opportunity use my skills to work directly with the community and those treated at the fantastic Sheffield Children’s Hospital is invaluable. I have met so many inspirational people during my time here, and love working together on innovative projects for an incredible cause!

Michaela White

Everyone at the charity is so wonderful and welcoming, it’s such a great team to be part of. The work everyone does is amazing, and you can really see the difference it makes. Sheffield Children’s is such a special place and I feel so proud to work within Team Theo. I get to see the direct impact our fundraising makes to the Hospital and our young people, and this makes this role so rewarding.  Knowing that my work helps this amazing cause makes me so happy to work for Sheffield Children’s.

Courtney Hunt

Community Fundraising Officer

When I was young, I had a serious problem where my kidney stopped growing, which caused me a lot of pain. I was brought to Sheffield Children’s Hospital to have an operation and my kidney was removed; I was only 5! I still remember a bit of the amazing treatment from the hospital staff, but mostly I remember how grateful (and relieved) my mum was when everything went well, and how the staff treated my family through a stressful situation. I owe Sheffield Children’s my life and I am very grateful that I can give back by working at this amazing charity.

Kit Huen

Creative Commissioner

Art lets us cast our gaze beyond the moment. More than an object, it is a machine to change experience. It is a presence to host, to build trust, and to be very soft to children and their families. Connecting artists and creatives together to reimagine the visual thinking space is both a passionate and fulfilling role for me. It is also my way of giving back to the community.

Theo

Bear Extraordinaire

I am amazed by everything I see inside the hospital, especially the amazing bravery of the little girls and boys who are being treated there. I love going out and seeing all the wonderful fundraisers raise money. All their donations make a huge difference.

Tchad Western

Head of Strategic Partnerships

As a team we hear so many truly inspiring stories. One fun one was the X-Ray department screening toys which were donated. What they discovered was the children were much happier having their own X-rays once they’d seen their toys were okay.

Pheobe Powell

Community and Events Fundraising Assistant

Working at Sheffield Children’s Hospital Charity has been such a special experience. Whether it’s helping out at our amazing in-house events or just having a chat with a supporter over the phone, I always feel proud to be part of a team that truly wants to make a difference. This job hasn’t just helped me grow in my career, it’s also taught me so much about compassion, teamwork and thinking in new ways. I am so grateful for everything I have learnt and the people I get to work with every day.
