We funded research in 2021/22 investigating ways to support the independence of children and young people with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis.
Developing self-management skills early is essential when living with a chronic illness, and this research is helping to give young people the tools and confidence to manage their own condition. The study explored two out of three potential prototypes, with scope to include a third. These included a wearable pain management device and a motivational physiotherapy tool.
The study will offer valuable insights into the experiences of children and young people living with Juvenile Arthritis and help shape future research.
